I’m not sure when my fascination with Japanese Culture emerged, but over the past few years it has developed. Maybe it was all the Super Mario as a kid, or the many Japanese RPG’s and the bits of anime that I’ve watched. All I really know now is that my road has wound its way through Japan and back home now to work on this project of presenting our experiences in these creative media projects.
Currently, I am working toward my undergraduate degree in Religious Studies, with a minor Communication Studies. My interest in my academic field has been intercultural communication from the start, and going to Japan has only increased my understanding of the challenges people face when immersed into intercultural situations. Ultimately, I hope that with this introduction to Japanese culture and religion, I am setting myself up for my triumphant return to Japan in the future.
